Throughout the Anthropocene, there has always been a diverse population of societies who are forced to coexist on this planet, whether they like it or not. Now depending on the nations/societies, the relations between them have varied and still do. For example, during World War II, the United States and Germany were bitter enemies, however now, these two nations are incredibly civil together, and work to create a better world for not only themselves, but also the nations/societies around them. However during the time of war, the planet does suffer.
"For the Anthropocene, the best candidate for such a golden spike are radioactive elements from nuclear bomb tests, which were blown into the stratosphere before settling down to Earth.," (Carrington, 2016). This quote proves how acts of war and these "puffing of chest," behavioral patterns are negatively affecting the world as we know it, and peace isn't only better for the populations of societies, but also the planet in which these populations inhabit.
