CHRONIC GLOMERUNEPHRITIS
Defination
It is a disease caused by repeated episodes of acute Nephritic syndrome
It is also secondary to systematic lupus erythromatosis
Pathophysiology
There is destruction of the glomeruli
Which cause loss of renal function
glomeruli and cortex harden and scarred
The size of kidney decreases
There is chronic interstitial inflammation
Which result to arteriosclerosis
Causes
Uriel infection
Hepatitis B and C
AIDS
Systemic lupus erythematosus
History of renal insufficiency
Clinical Manifestations
Fatigue
Lethargu
Anaemia
Hyperkalamia
Hypocalcaemia
Diagnostic Study
Urinalysis that show fixed specific study
Blood Test that show electrolyte imbalance
Radiologic studies that show cardiac enlargment
Renal biopsy
physical examination
Nursing Intervention
Place patient on bed rest
monitor weight daily
Monitor intake and out put
Restrict salt intake and water
Health Education
Advise patient to prevent UTI
Advise patient to maintain personal hygiene
Advise patient to exercise
Advise patient to treat acute glomerulonephritis
Phamacology
Provide Diuretics
Provide hypotensives
Provide protein supplements
Angiotensin Receptor Blockers
Diet Therapy
Diet high in protein
protein high in calories
Drink plenty of water
