Is the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) Worse or Better Than North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)?
Poultry and Dairy Farmer
Canadian
The USMCA is in no way better than NAFTA. I feel betrayed by the Canadian government, as they have put my main source of income in jeopardy. They have done this by giving the American poultry and dairy farmers a 3.6% increase on the Canadian dairy market. Also, increasing the annual import limit of eggs to 57 000 tonnes will kill my business, as less people will buy my product. Although our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, said that the Canadian dairy and poultry market will be fine through compensation. No compensation will make up for the hit the market will take through the new deal.
Foreign
This trade agreement is not only bad for me, but for farmers all around the world. This is because Canada is limiting imports of dairy and poultry from foreign countries. They are doing this through tariffs on all dairy and poultry products coming in to Canada from anywhere other than America. By Canada adding these tariffs my income is in shambles, as a large majority of my income will be cut. The USMCA is in every way inferior to NAFTA.
American
The American government did a great job on the new trade agreement and it is much better than NAFTA. As a dairy and poultry farmer we could always sell locally, but we never had much access to other markets. The USMCA deal allows larger access to Canadian dairy and poultry markets and that is a very good thing. This is not only a benefit for me, but for farmers all over the country. We will see much more income coming in through the new deal. The USMCA is a much better agreement than NAFTA.

This new trade deal is worse than NAFTA in every way. Although we have locked up our oil the Liberal government has betrayed Canadian dairy and poultry farmers by giving American farmers larger access to our market. On top of this, the Liberals never delivered on their promises related to indigenous rights, gender parity, and the environment because they were distracted working on this deal.

This new trade agreement is a fantastic deal for all parties involved, I did an amazing job as President. The agreement is much better than NAFTA ever was, we were being taken advantage and I fixed that.
Many of my demands for America were successfully challenged by Trudeau during the negotiations. Some of these demands include eliminating softwood labor, steel, and aluminum tariffs. I still think Canada got more than it deserved, we are the greatest nation in the world.
Pharmaceutical Companies

The reason I became a pharmacist was to help people who are suffering to get better. I do this by providing the most appropriate medicine to my patients at the most accessible cost. With the new trade agreement pharmaceutical companies have lost the ability to adapt medicines for an additional 2 years. I worry that my patients won't get the most effective and affordable medicine when they need it. I do not agree with this change in the slightest, and believe that we go back to NAFTA. This is really about pharmaceutical companies making more money and not about healthcare or our patients.

The USMCA is a very good deal. It is about time they extended market exclusivity on pharmaceutical products from 8 years to 10. This is a great change as this will bring in more money to my company as we are innovators. We can sell our new products for longer periods of time with no competition. The USMCA is a big improvement on NAFTA.

This new trade agreement is amazing. As a Canadian citizen I am super relieved for two reasons. First, locking up our oil was a huge positive, and definitely a win for Canada. Second, which I am super excited about, is Canada has increased the duty free shopping threshold to $150 CAN, I can buy more duty free! This is huge for me as I frequently see American products not sold in Canada. These products are typically reasonable until I have to pay the duty. With this new change I will be much happier. The Canadian government did an amazing job on this one.
This deal was horrid. The whole country of Canada should be grieving over this agreement. It comes with some positive, but nothing can outweigh the heavy hit the dairy and poultry market took. As a Canadian citizen I try to support local, and keep my money in the community. Over time I've begun to have fairly tight relationships with the local farmers. Now all these farmers will go out of business as the Americans have much larger access to our markets. I don't feel it's fair to the farmers or families trying to buy local. I look at it as if America used their power to bully Canada and Mexico into one-sided deals. NAFTA was fine the way it was, and the USMCA reflects the needs of the USA.

Donald Trump and the American government have done a terrible job on the new trade agreement. We have lost out on article 605 of NAFTA which provided us with cheap oil and gas. This was one of the best bargains in international trade because we were able to get one of the most valuable resources on Earth in large quantities and for a reduced price. The USMCA is a big loss for the people of the USA.
The USMCA is a way better deal then NAFTA ever was. Through this deal we have put our dairy and poultry farmers in a much better position. We have also helped our auto mechanics industry through quotas on all auto mechanic imports from Mexico and Canada. This will encourage American citizens to buy cars made in America as they will be cheaper and easier to come by. The USMCA has boosted America's economy, and will allow us to stay superior for years to come.
Oil Companies

The USMCA is a trade deal that should have taken place ages ago, it is brilliant. Canada will no longer give the majority of their oil to America for cheap prices. This will allow Canada to export larger amounts of oil to different countries around the world that are willing to pay for it. This will most likely cause the price of oil to increase in Canada as we will be selling it for more. This will increase the revenue coming in to my oil company which is a very good thing.
Foreign
The new trade agreement in North America is much better than the last. America was always importing cheap oil from Canada leaving them very little reason to import oil from elsewhere. Now that Canada is exporting oil elsewhere America will be looking to import from foreign countries. This then allows foreign oil companies, like the one I own, to export large amounts of oil to the largest economy in the world. This is fantastic for oil companies everywhere.
American
USMCA is a great deal. This is because North America voids article 605 of NAFTA. This no longer allows America to get Canada's oil in abundance cheaply. Although I am an American citizen as the president for an american oil company this is a good thing. This is because America will now need to source oil from other areas. Some of this will come from foreign countries, but we will see a increase in the amount of oil purchased. This deal will bring in more American business to American companies, that is how it should be!
Small Store Owners

The USMCA is a fantastic deal for all parties involved.As a small store owner in Canada there has always been limits to what I can buy from America due to the duty I have to pay on my items purchased.This has always been a problem because I would have to price the items so high it made no sense for customers to buy the items from me. Now that the limit for duty-free shopping has increased I can buy more expensive items from the USA without having to cover duty in my prices. Overall its a very good trade agreement for all.
Automotive Companies
Workers
This new trade deal is amazing for North American automotive workers. This is because a rule was introduced where 30% of all cars built in North America must be made by workers earning $21 CAN or more. This will help automotive workers across the continent as we will be able to bring in a little more money at the end of the month than we had in the past.
Owners
Canada
As the owner of a Canadian automotive company we have lost a large majority of our business in America. This is because the American government wanted to protect American automotive companies. They did this by introducing quotas on all imports of auto mechanics products from Mexico and Canada. In this attempt by the American government to protect American automotive companies they have ruined Canadian automotive companies. This trade deal will affect the income coming into my business as we will have many less sales in the largest economy in the world, America.
America
The USMCA is brilliant when compared to NAFTA. The new trade deal will allow my business to see a large boost of revenue coming in. The new trade deal will reduce the competition in the American automotive industry as there will be less Canadian and Mexican automotive companies interfering in the market. This will allow my company to pull in more sales, ultimately boosting the companies revenues.
Steel, Glass, and Aluminum Companies
Foreign
This deal is bad news for all foreign sga (steel, glass, and aluminum) companies. The new North American trade deal that was reached will reduce their imports from foreign countries in sga. This is because 75% of sga used in North American automobiles must be sourced from North America limiting our ability to supply North American automotive companies. This will dramatically cut the money coming in to my sga business as well as all sga business' located outside of North America.
North American
It's a very good deal for us North American steel, glass, and aluminum companies. This is because a new agreement was reached that 75% of the sga (steel, glass, and aluminum) used in automobiles built in North America must be sourced from North America. Also, removing tariffs will level the playing field for us all. This will boost money coming in because automotive companies are forced to buy the majority of their sga from companies like us.
