DEFINITION
recurrent acute bouts of pyelonephritis

encourage and monitor fluid intake

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
Headache
poor apetite
fatigue
excessive weight loss
polyuria
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
E.coli enters the urinary tract and the kidneys
kidneys infected with E.coli lead to an acute inflammatory response
inflammatory response results in scarring of the renal parenchyma
DIET
low fat( 1% skim) or dairy products
lots of fruits and vegetables
more chicken and fish
low sodium diet
