Cystitis is inflammation and infection of the urinary bladder.
Is more common in women than in men due to the proximity
Of the urethra to the vagina and rectum.
• Ca• This is caused by injuries, tumours, diseases such as multiple sclerosis, and cerebrovascular accident (CVA) and spinal lesions above the level of T12 leading to uninhibited bladder control. A neurogenic bladder can be underactive, in which case it is unable to contract and empty properly, or overactive (spastic) where voiding is uncontrollable.uses
