Analysis of Decorative furniture
Cost
This brief is quite broad and allows me to be more creative because the word furniture could include lots of different things
User
Function
Time
Aestetics
Materials
Plastic
Wood
textiles
Metals
Usually not strong enough to hold someone's weight so is not recommended
Although its easy to maintain and clean it will easily crack but would be good for separating surfaces or a table top
Metals are harder to work with but do hold their shape
Different metals have different properties
Can only be coated in other protective metals or aerosol paints
very good at holding weight, and can easily be formed into different shapes
Often used in furiture
They come in lotrs of different colours and patters
Allow to add padding to chairs and other materials
As most furniture is made from wood and textiles therefore the cost would be relatively cheap
This probably wouldn't require paint and paint could be expensive so it keeps the cost down
No specific parts would be needed
The function would likely need to either hold the weight of itself or the weight of the materials that is on top of it
Needs to be appealing to a large group of people
Needs to be able to suit inside a room alongside other furniture
Likely to be a feature piece of a room
Would want to have a large range of colours within the patterns of textiles
I would like part of it to be reflective
modern
Uniformed but unusual shaped
Would be for a large range of users including; elderly, young children and disabled
I would like for it to also be a convocation starter
Needs to be as fireproof as possible
This piece would take quite a long time to make
A lot of research and perfecting techniques would need to go into this
