Why Schools Should Implement Education On How To Properly Recycle…
-
Greenhouse gases pollute our air. This can lead to new health problems for habitants or further complicate pre-existing health complications.
-
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that: "in 2012 around 7 million people died - one in eight of total global deaths – as a result of air pollution exposure." Source: https://www.who.int/mediacentre/news/releases/2014/air-pollution/en/
Air pollution in specific can cause problems for people with pre-existing conditions such as asthma.
Greenhouse gases such as ozone are a known irritant for people with asthma and can generate more asthma attacks.
Additionally, the increase in the output of
greenhouse gases can mean an increase in some of the greenhouse gases which are known ozone-depleting gases such as chlorine and bromine compounded gases.
Since recycling has been found to help reduce output of greenhouse gases, and( as previously mentioned), by result can help reduce ozone-depleting gases, we can help stop the rapid depletion of the ozone layer at a relatively small cost of teaching proper recycling techniques.
Even if we are not directly reversing all effects of ozone depletion, by trying to reduce our greenhouse gas input we are trying to at least balance out the ratio of ozone we are creating and ozone we are destroying in order to help maintain the ozone layer we have currently, which is still more beneficial than continuous depletion.
Air pollution can also create health problems beyond pre-existing conditions. It can largely affect animals' health, which in turn, can harm us once we consume their byproducts.
Objects like paper when they are not recycled end up in landfills. The decomposition of paper in landfills produces methane.
However, improper recycling can lead to contamination which ultimately can lead to the whole batch of recycling being discarded and going to waste

Common items that are recycled when they shouldn't be:
-Plastic Straws
-Greasy Pizza Boxes
-Shredded Paper
-Plastic Bags
By changing recycling habits we can reduce a large increase in waste production which can be also often be a negative effect of rapid urbanization.

Recycling and reusing products that were already made means we can cut back on making new products. This is due to the fact that a lot of factories emit methane gas when creating new products
