The Peaches
How is it distributed to consumers: Peaches can be sold in many forms such as juice, canned, or whole fruit. They can also be bought in many places from farmers markets to commercial stores. Probably the most common way peaches are bought is sliced peaches in a can. This is because no matter what, they are usually in perfect condition whereas consumers are very picky about the appearance of a whole peach to buy. That is true about large wholesale stores and other commercial stores, but in a farmer's market a peach being bought in its natural form strait off the tree occurs more.
How are the most commonly transported: After the initial processing, the peaches are boxed up according to their sizes, conditions, and ripeness to be shipped out to stores. Most commonly trucks transport the peaches around the United States.
How they are processed: Peaches are most commonly hand-picked then immediately rinsed in cold water to delay the ripening process. they are run through a hydro-cooler which is basically an ice bath to further lower their temperatures. After that, the peaches move on a conveyor belt to be examined by workers who grade the fruit on quality and size. Another conveyor belt senses sizes of the peaches with numerous cameras and categorizes them accordingly to be packaged for shipment.
How they are produced: Peaches to be harvested are grown on trees in an orchard.
Where they are produced: The top four states that produce peaches are California, South Carolina, Georgia, and New Jersey.
The Cream:
How it is processed: The milk is moved through processing sequence through various tubes and tanks. It is separated into cream, packaged, then transported.
How it is most commonly transported: dairy products are mostly transported locally through the means of refrigerated trucks to a store.
How it is produced: The milk from the cow is produced when the cow eats the feed then it is milked. The milk is put into a bulk tank that chills the milk and keeps it from rotting.
How it is distributed to purchasers: Cream can commonly be bought from stores in small convenient containers or you could possibly but cream fresh from a dairy farm.
Where it is produced: California, Wisconsin, and New York produce the most milk for cream in the United States.
The Oats:
Where is it produced: South Dakota produced the most oats in the United states followed by North dakota and Wisconsin.
How it is produced: Oats come from an annual play that often reaches 5 feet tall. common oats are grown in cool regions.
How it is processed: Oats are harvested from a field by a combine, then they are sorted to remove anything that isn't the physical oat plant. After that the oats are separated from the hulls, brushed off, then cooked for consumption.
How is it most commonly transported: Oats are transported mainly by bulk cargo and only sometimes in bags. For smaller production, the oats are packaged in consumer sized containers or bags for shipment to commercial stores.
How is it distributed to consumers: Oats are usually sold in relatively small amounts at stores or in bulk via bags for consumers with lager demands.
