Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born in Newark, New Jersey, August 9, 1963.

Whitney Houston went to Franklin Elementary School in East Orange, New Jersey and graduated from Mount Saint High School in Cadwell, New Jersey.
At eleven he began her musical training in a children's gospel choir of the "New Hope Baptist" church in Newark, New Jersey, later, she would accompany her mother at concerts.
In 1978, she worked on her mother's album, "Think It Over."
In 1977, she was a backup singer for the single "Life’s a Party" by Michael Zager Band and the following year she sang on Chaka Khan's single "I am all women."
In the early 1980s, at seventeen, she worked as a model, appearing in several magazines including, ‘Seventeen’, where she became the first African American to be featured on the cover.
She also took on acting gigs appearing in TV show episodes such as, ‘Gimme a Break’
In 1983, she signed an important contract with Artista Records, thanks to the company's founder listening to him sing in a well-known New York club, Mikell’s.
In 1985, she debuted with his album, "Whitney Houston", gradually became the number one album in sales of her career.
In the same year he achieved thanks to the song 'Saving All My Love for You', her first Grammy Award.
In 1989 she created her own foundation, Whitney Houston Foundation For Children, which deals with helping many homeless children, as well as helping children with cancer.
On July 18, 1992, she married Bobby Brown, a well-known American hip-hop singer.
That same year she starred, along with Kevin Costner, the movie "The Bodyguard" by Mick Jackson.
Whitney recorded six new songs for the soundtrack, including a version of Dolly Parton's track "I Will Always Love You" with which she broke all expectations.
Released as a single in November, it was its tenth number one in the United States becoming the best selling single of 1992 in the United Kingdom and the United States, staying 10 weeks and 14 weeks respectively in that position. Over time it became one of the best selling singles in history.
Her first and only daughter named Bobbi Brown was born on March 4, 1993, at a hospital in New Jersey.

Unfortunately Bobbi entered an induced coma in January 2015, to finally die on July 26 of that year.
She has won over 400 awards including, six ‘Grammys’, two ‘Emmys’, ‘30 Billboard Music Awards’, and 22 ‘American Music Awards’.
She is the only woman to have more than one album spend at least ten weeks at No. one. She had three: ‘Whitney Houston’, ‘Whitney’, and ‘The Bodyguard’ soundtrack.
In 2009, ‘Guinness World Records’ cited her as the most awarded female musician of all time.
On February 11, 2012, her lifeless body was found and with traces of cocaine, she appeared drowned in the bathtub a few hours before her planned performance at a Grammy delivery party.
