The Chaos Poet

Jim Morrison
He studied at Florida State University and then film at UCLA, in Los Angeles. Then he decided to focus on what he always considered his true vocation: poetry. With that intention he moved to Venice Beach in Los Angeles, California.

The band quickly gained a reputation with a stimulating, unruly and entertaining act. With his good looks, magnetic presence and leather pants, Jim Morrison became a rock idol and a "sex symbol", although he was limited with the moral restrictions of stardom.
Morrison fostered his reputation as a rebel when, on December 10, he was arrested in New Haven, for speaking ill about the police to the public. Morrison said a jealous officer had thrown tear gas at him by surprising him with a girl on the racks.

He died on July 3, 1971, at age 27 in Paris.
He was found by Pamela Courson, his girlfriend, in a bathtub at his apartment. The official cause of death was listed as heart failure, although no autopsy was performed, as it was not required by French law. The cause of Morrison's death remains unknown.
Morrison was, and continues to be, one of the most popular and influential singer-songwriters and iconic frontmen in rock history.
He died at 27, the same age as several other rock stars (Club of 27). In 1974, Morrison's girlfriend, Pamela Courson, also died at the age of 27.
James Douglas Morrison was born on December 8, 1943 in Melbourne, Florida. His parents were Clara and Rear Admiral George Stephen Morrison.
Morrison had a younger sister, Anne Robin and a younger brother, Andrew Lee Morrison.
His parents had determined never to use physical corporal punishment such as spanking on their children. They instead instilled discipline and levied punishment by the military tradition known as "dressing-down". This consisted of yelling at and berating the children until they were reduced to tears and acknowledged their failings. That fact marked his life. Once Morrison graduated from UCLA, he broke off most contact with his family.
