Step 2. Pre-referral
Classroom teacher contacts Student Support Team (SST) and gives a detailed documentation that he/she collected over the past weeks, including the strategies that worked/worked for while/didn't work
SST schedules observations in class, depending on the area of concern. SST instructors documents what they see.
After multiple observations and evaluation from SST, the official meeting with classroom teacher, parents/guardians, head of SST, and instructors is scheduled.
The areas of concern are identified by SST and alternative interventions and strategies are suggested for the next 3-week period.
SST instructors monitor the student within the agreed timeframe. Both teacher and SST document strategies that worked/worked for a while/didn't work. During this time communication with parents is essential. SST instructor, teacher, and the parents create a group chat (Wechat) and communicate on a daily basis.

Step 4. Develop an IEP
IEP team will be formed to develop a plan of special education services for the student, focusing on information obtained from Step 3.
IEP must contain the goals and objectives that begin on the date, stated in the IEP meeting, and are in effect until the date stated in the IEP. are in place for 1 trimester.
If the student requires any assistive technology or one-on-one, it will be provided by the school for an additional fee.
These IEP goals are reviewed, monitored and updated based on student progress. For most students, IEP goals are in place for one academic year. In SLAS goals
Step 5. Reevaluation
IEP team is required to meet every beginning of trimester for reevaluation. During these meetings, the IEP team should discuss the positive and negative elements of the special education services provided and determine, based on any new assessment data, what services should be provided in the upcoming trimester.
