    - - Puncturing the skin to drain an infection such as abscess or boil.

        Intervention.
        
        Assess the severity and intensity of pains.
        
        Immobilize and support the affected body part.
        
        Administer analgesics as prescribed and evaluate the effectiveness of pain control.
      - Impaired physical mobility related to pains, immobilization devices and weight bearing devices.
        
        Intervention.
        
        Assist the patient to stand and ambulate a specified distance.
        
        Provide assistive devices.
        
        Monitor patients use of crutches or any other walking devise.
      - Ineffective therapeutic management related to lack of knowledge regarding long term management of osteomyelitis.
        
        Intervention.
        
        Demonstrate and teach aseptic techniques and wound care to the patient.
        
        Instruct the purpose, dosage and action of medication
        
        Teach the possible side effects and consequences of stopping treatment.
