- can still live on their own
- loss of memory
- can still feed themselves etc
Dementia

- complete loss of function
- only remembers stuff from 20 years aog
- loses social graces
Real dementia is reversible, but other causes can mimick dementia

- BMP
- LFT
- B12
- def. presents as dementia
- RPR
- Depression
- pseudodementia, esp after loss of a spouse
- easily reversible
