Students will need to do a matching work sheet where they will match animals and plants with an ecosystem that they belong too.
They will need to draw a mini eocosystem and in this case a pond. In it they will need to have examples of plants and animals tha tlive in a pond

Team 2
12 students who have some knowledge about the topic as shown in their score, but need to develop higher order thinking skills
This group needs a mini lessons on ecosystems and I need to make sure they comprehend what is important.
This group will need to create a poster or anchor chart of a pond ecosystem. They will need to write down each part and give examples of plants, animals and the Earth. I will model how to make this during my lesson for them.
Once they are finished they will present it ot the class.

Team 3
5 students who appear to have limited knowledge about the topic, of which 3 are struggling with language and are at different reading levels and 2 students who have little to no comprehension of the the topic and need to be tested further for special needs
This group will need a lesson from and lots of attention. I will use lots of visual aids to help teach the information for the ELL students.

When i feel that they have comprehended more i will check by having them do another matching worksheet with plants and animals for their respective ecosystem.
Once they are all finished i will have them create a big version to present to the class.

5 students who answered most, including the most difficult, of the pre-assessment questions correctly
Students must work together to create a presentation on their choice of an ecosystem. the ecosystem that they choose will be different then ones covered in class already. I will give them Ipads and books to do research on ecosystem.
When they are done brainstorming and create an outline, they most make a presentation where each student must read out a section about their chosen ecosystem.
I will help them with power point to put in pictures for them to refer too during theri presentation
I can grade them on their written work and how well they presented

Students will need to understand what an ecosystem is and what they include. they will have to be able to identify animals and plants that live in ecosystems and how they work together.
