        In these jurisdictions, if you offer M&E services, you have to provide fire safety advice on say sprinklers, when you apply for building permits your M&E design has to include initial fire design by taking account of fire strategy, you have to comply with BCAR certification in Ireland etc.

        e.g. the specification of the position of reinforcement within reinforced concrete structures and the determination of timber member sizes which are required to incorporate charring depths etc.
