HEALTH EDUCATION
Discourage the use of products that could be irritating like vaginal sprays, topical creams, laundry detergents, sanitary napkins, spermicides, douches etc.

Patient should be advised to wear cotton absorbent underwear and change it daily or anytime necessary.
Over-washing the affected area may worsen the symptoms and it must be washed once daily and with only warm water
Patient must be advised to drink plenty of water to reduce urine concentration, and thus reducing irritation

Antifungal, hydrocortisone and oestrogen creams may relieve symptoms
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
Vulvitis may be caused by fungi, bacteria, herpes or other viral infection. Fungal diseases of the vulvar are the common ones, usually Candida albicans is the agent of the infection and is yeast-like. Gardnerella vaginalis the most common bacterial cause of vulvitis.
DEFINITION
It is basically the infection and inflammation that may follow other underlying conditions such as diabetes mellitus, vaginitis etc.
