Al-Fuqaraa
A person is considered a faqeer if he or she has no income and depends on others for daily necessities such as food and shelter. This includes orphans, Widows, old people etc.
Ar-Riqaab
Ar-Riqaab means neck but here it means a slave. Zakah may also be used to buy the freedom of muslims who are slaves in a society allowing slavery.
Al-Ghaarimoon
There are some muslims who are so heavily in the debt that there is no way they can pay it back. In this case Zakah is used to help pay creditors and relieve them of their debts.
