PART ONE : RESEARCH
Evaluate the assessment and re-brief through the use of a mind map or other brainstorming tools. Including but not limited to; due date, technical specifications, aim of the assessment and submission requirements
Participate in the “Understanding Packaging” workshop
• Evaluate how existing packaging and labels works
• Discuss current and emerging trends within the packaging
industry
• Identify what elements and requirements of existing
packaging are needed for different fields including food, toys, clothes, perfume and cosmetics and electronics
• Include photos of existing packaging and identify what
elements stand out on them
Research and document 3 existing packaging companies and discuss trends and technologies in the industry
Investigate any local or international packaging award possibilities and assess the opportunities and challenges represented

Brainstorm what product you will be creating the labels for
Include:
• What product range it will be
• What the product names will be for your three (3) varieties of your product
• What process, technologies and materials could be utilised.
Acquire your product and research any competition for your selected product and evaluate the target audience. Look at age range, local, international and cultural preferences

PART TWO : DESIGN
Experiment with the hand drawn designs of your labels for three (3) varieties. Consider new and different approaches to format, type and visuals.

Using your hand drawn design and planned adjustments – digitally create your labels to correct technical specifications
Continually seek and document feedback and complete self evaluation of your work until the labels are finalised.
