Encourage the patient to rinse the mouth saline solution every 2 hours
Educate the patient about avoiding mouth washes with high alcohol content
Encourage the patient to suck suger free candies for to help with dry mouth
Nurse will apply vaseline in the mouth of a patient
Causes
Injury inside cheeks such as bitting
Rough , uneven teeth
Dentures, especially if improperly fitted
Long term alcoholics
Symptoms
White or gray patches in patches that cant be wiped away
Thickened or hardened in areas
Along with raised red lesions
Objective data
Dry mouth
Red tounge with leukoplakia
Sores in mouth
Treatment
Removal of leukoplakia patches
May be removed using a laser
Use of extremely cold probe that freezes and destroy cancer cells
Nursing outcome or evaluation
The patient will report less discomfort when eating
Patient mocous membrane will be free from plaque
The patient will practise oral hygiene
Phathophysiology
Leukoplakia patches may be the indication of oral cancer
So it is very important to get treatment earlier

Extremely tenderness of the mouth
That makes it hard to eat

Is a condition in which thick white or gray patches devolop in the tounge
