Defination

Inflammation and infection of the breast tissue occurs commonly in breast feeding women

Discomfort or nipple discharge, Pus, Swelling, fatigue, chills and fever

Cracked nipples, dry or fissured. infection may be blood borne

The infecting organism causes inflammation of the milk ducts resulting in a blockage which causes milk to stagnate in the lobules.

Administer prescribed medication, Patient should wear supportive bra and clean breast frequently. if breast feeding the child should be taken off the breast.

Is an infection and inflammation of fallopian tubes .

The infecting organism colonise the virgina and the cervix causing low grade vaginitis and cervicitis. Subsequently the infection ascends to the uterus and fallopian tubes causing endometritis, salpingitis and Oopharitis
