'stiff necked'- descriptive, contrasts with bends- relates to how power is used/gained to manipulate people who are infrerior/a minority (talking about salam's people in general)
white- connotates purity, innocence --> role of women in salam is to be good, pure, not outlandish
'I have put clothes on your back'- tone evokes guilt- conveys that paris's actions are not for the good of people, but so people will obey him, thus giving him power- 'now give me an upright answer'

imbedded clause 'as always', shows repetitive nature of this, infers that is is begrudgingly accepted as the norm
