With the advent of Covid19, creative practitioners (professionals in both the formal and informal sectors) have seen their income dry up completely. We expect that this is only going to worsen as the global economy shrinks even further as businesses and people have less money for creative products and services.
We need to find a way to help formal and informal creative professionals earn income during the Covid Crisis, and also strengthen the sector because it has the ability to support economic recovery efforts. Creativity is one of the most important currencies of the 4th Industrial Revolution as well as being the backbone of innovation and the creation of a robust gig economy which is essential for the job creation Africa requires.
