would be a priority once I had completed the first 4 steps. A face to face meeting would be essential in order to have more background about the student. It would be great if parents would be on board to start to journal about their child's progress.
Referral to Special Education Team
. I would contact the S.E. Team and justify my request with my notes about social skills, incidents, collaborator's remarks and my own class assessment results.
Meet and greet students -

and paying attention to queues such as : eye contact, language, communication skills, engagement, motivation, moods. Writing first impressions as well as any incidents is extremely useful.

A child who is struggling at school will need as much support as possible at home. Making sure that parents understand the ways in which their child is struggling is crucial, so that they can adapt their approach to supporting their child and better understand their child's motivations and challenges.
Finding good
Learning collaborators
is important in reinforcing inclusion and social integration in the class for the struggling student. Working on communication skills, as well as positive transitions and routines can be supported by the other students in the class.
Note progress
and journal about student. I believe in the power of journaling and measuring progress. In this way the teacher, students, and parents can reflect on what has been working well and what hasn't.
Feedback with Special Education Team
to be sure that the student is being fully supported and receiving all the support he/she has the right to. This is also crucial for justifying how the teacher is implementing differentiation.
