Pathophysiology
During initial infection , fimbriae are edematous and indrawn with serous surface , adhering together to prooduce closure of abdomina ostium
Organisms involved are Staphylococcus , E. coli. Gonococcus, Chlamydia trachomatis

Uterine ostium is not closed , favouring repeated infection, intermittent discharge of fluid into uterine cavity
Causes
N. gonorrhea , causes 50% of salpingtis
