Risk factors
The use of colored or perfumed toilet paper
An allergic reaction to bubble bath or soap used to clean the genital area
Use of vaginal sprays or douches
Irritation by a chlorinated swimming pool or hot tub water
Allergic reaction to spermicide
Allergic reaction to sanitary napkins
Wearing synthetic underwear or nylon pantyhose without a breathable cotton crotch
Wearing a wet bathing suit for extended periods of time

Fungal or bacterial infections including scabies or pubic lice

Fungi, bacteria, or herpes or other viral infections causes irritation
Candida albicans, a yeastlike fungus usually contribute towards such irritation
.Escherichia coli, and staphylococci and streptococci may also result into infections.

Blood test may also be necessary in case of diabetes mellitus
Vulval swabs must be take for culture and sensitivity
There is vulval itchiness and discomfort

Causes
Infections,such as vaginitis, genital herpes, and fungal infections
Irritants: Products made with irritating materials or that contain added dyes or perfumes
Medication,such as hormone supplements and anti-anxiety medicines
Vaginal douches causes dryness and irritation resulting into infection
Hygiene habits: Not changing a pad or underwear, prolonged moisture around the vulva, and not wiping properly
