To focus, we need a distractionfree space --> escape
In the fast world we're living in today, it's important to take active time to just think without predetermined cause or intention.
For example, linkedin-CEO takes 4x30min windows every day to just think.
Reading in order to get a perspective of the bigger picture is also very good. For example, Bill Gates has 1 week per year where he just reads and is in monk-mode.
Of course, all electronic devices must be turned off and people around you must be informed that you do not want to be distracted.
Practical implication
When working on somethin in the WG, put a sign up that says: Not to be disturbed until xx:xx if it can wait.
Futhermore, in chapter 5 of the essentialist, there's a booklist of nice broad-view books: Write that down here and into the calender for next readings.
I want to take a 30min window every day to just do nothing at all. I want this to become and the exploring to become a habit.
