Team Member roles for the prevention of Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) Project
Chief Financial Officer( Marissa Castaneda) Role: 1.Approve all the quality improvement project budget
The CAUTI Champions
Charge Nurses roles: facilitate the use of teamwork tools and support the integration of the bundle checklist n into the daily workflow at the unit
Patient care technicians Roles: Help in the maintenance bundle care checklist (bag off the floor, urinary catheter care, empty urine bag, catheter secured)
Bedside nurses roles : involve in daily nursing rounds using CAUTI bundle maintenance checklist and EHR assessment to help identify patients with catheters and trigger the question:“Is the catheter needed?” 2. Bedside nurses own the daily process in evaluating the catheter and comply with the EHR urinary catheter insertion and maintenance care bundle.
ICU Nurse educator and ICU clinical educator Roles:1.Ensure staff education, training and compliance; Develop and approve new CAUTI policy and share expertise in technical skills. Promote the goal of CAUTI and consistently observe the outcome of the interventions.
ICU Critical Care intensivist Roles:The role of the physician champion is to connect with other physicians, promoting the multidisciplinary support of peers to the project
Patient and Family Roles: Recipient of care and help to carry out the plan of CAUTI maintenance care.( ex. educate to make sure bag is off the floor)
Project Coordinator Roles: (Roda Galang and Bob Molinaro)
Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the CAUTI quality project. process and outcome data to identify areas that require further improvement. Regular evaluation of CAUTI events and rates. Provide the team with feedback on their performance and highlights of the CAUTI prevention

ICU Director (Robert Molinaro) roles: 1.Monitor and help in the development of the Quality improvement project . 2. Approve the quality improvement project
Infection Control Director and team roles: supporting the work,highlighting the infectious risks, and helping with data collection related to CAUTI.Report results to all key stakeholder
Information Technology RN (Elizabeth Adamson and Michael Ho)
Roles: 1.determine end-user requirement and customize the EHR CAUTI dashboard and documentation. 2. responsible for designing and delivering training.

Infection Control Director (Dr. Salehi) Roles: 1. Monitor the CAUTI rate, 2. help in data collection and reporting
