How Light Travels
Light travels in straight lines. Areas which are blocked receive no light and a shadow is formed. But it does not always travel in straight lines
Travels fastest in air, slowest in solid.

Terms used in Reflection
Normal is perpendicular to reflective surface, usually drawn in dotted lines.

The position of image is as far behind the mirror as the object is in front of the mirrors. The reflection is also laterally inverted.
Laws of Reflection
Incident ray, reflected ray, and normal to the reflective surface all lies in the same plane.
