Case Study: Aiden is an extremely gifted kindergarten student. He is always first to finish his work and will get bored easily if not stimulated. However, there are times during down time or merely daily interactions with the Teacher that Aiden will be disrespectful. He’s disrespectful in a variety of ways that need to be redirected. His most common forms of disrespect are unwilling to consider others ideas and opinions, he always feels that he is right unless research shows him otherwise, he will frequently talk back to certain teachers and won’t always follow directs given at the time.

Case Study: Rosa is a well behaved kindergartner who is often off task. She is always the last student to finish eating, packing her backpack and finishing her work. She is often found day dreaming. Almost daily during lunch time she will zone out and stop chewing her food altogether for almost a minute at a time. During instructions for an activity she will sometimes draw on her book or in the inside of her pencil case. If other students are demanding a lot of the teacher’s time due to behavior or other classroom needs, it is easy to not recognize these behaviors with Rosa at the time.
