If you want your product to be unique, then make people buy your product believe in what you believe in. People act for themselves. A great leader makes people willingly come together for a unified vision. So everyone works towards the same direction but also for themselves.
case scenario: Continental Airlines. They think they will start treating their employees nicely once their problems are fixed, but that day never comes since the problem is rooted at the employees. The company had to file for bankruptcy protection, that's how bad it went.
