Students with Learning Difficulties
Kindergarten
If it seems as if a student is struggling. Monitor that student to see if any extra assistance and differentiated assistance is needed for that student.
If no change.
Provide monthly feedback to the parents for the students to see let parents no the issue is going on so they can be aware and allow the parent to correct at home.
If there are further issues with the student inform co-teacher. The coteacher will speak with parents about behavior.
If student improves, continue with differentiated instructions.

Ways to differentiate Lessons
Vary the length or quantity of the assignment.
extend or curtail duration of assignement.
Change the langurage of the assignment.
Scaffold the learning activity from hard to medium to easy
Compact the activity. Teach only what they don't know.

Elementary
Student with possible learning disability identified
First monitor the student and their work to determine if it is behavior related and/or issues with keeping up with the curriculm.
Second, speak with the second and ask do they need additional help or help with their reading and writing.
If, no change
Speak with co-teacher. The co-teacher with speak with students or administration to determine outcome. There are a few options
Student will receive more assistance outside of class
Parents will be contacted concerning classroom behavior or addtional help that is needed.
Student may be moved to a different teacher to determine if that class and teaching style may be a better fit.
Thirdly, provide additional and/or extended instructions during class.
Incorporate activites that are learning and lesson based.
Other Accomodations
Break learning into smaller steps
Supply regular, quality feedback
Use diagrams, graphics, pictures in addition to words.
Model instruction practices.
