- - - - In history, evidence is key to ensure the credibility of a claim. The analysis of evidence can affect the conclusion that is drawn from it. The study of history therefore depends very greatly on evidence because all we know about the past is based on proof of the past, not only on memory and verbal communication (storytelling).
      - When we find new evidence, claims or "facts" in the study of history are altered because they might suggest different conclusions than the ones that already exist.
      - Looking at History from contrasting perspectives through wider ranges of evidence or professional points of view, therefore, enriches the truth in the events and/or concepts or theories of History, which strengthens the credibility of the conclusions drawn.
    - - when we consider ethical dilemmas or circumstances, several points of view are considered. This is because we must address every possible option, possibility and reasoning behind actions, ideals, events and morals.

    - - In the study of history, the main goal is explain the past as accurately and wholly as possible, so that we can understand the past and portray it the way it truly was. Historians look to find the best evidence to support claims.
        
        confirmation bias = if historians choose their evidence so that it confirms their hypothesis or their initial conclusion/claim, they are not considering contrasting perspectives. They are only choosing to investigate specific points of view of the subject/event they are researching.
