Scale
Size conversion
Grid References
4 figure grid references are used to identify and locate particular squares on a grid/map
Squares reference is found by looking at the bottom left corner of it and travelling down/across the eastings and northings to find out the coordinates
Vertical lines are called eastings
Horizontal lines are called northings
Landforms and Landscapes
Characteristics are similar and different
Landforms
Found in;

Landscapes
Coastal
Where the land meets the sea
Human
HAs natural aspects
Are created by people
buildings, roads, transport, energy, sewerage and telecommunication - Features of a human landscape
Arid (Desert)
Receives no more than 250 millimetres of rain per year
Cold Desert
Located along Artic and Antartic Circles
Hot desert
Located along tropics of Cancer and Capricorn
Little too no flora
Karst
Caves, stalactites, springs and sinkholes
Formed by easily dissolvable bedrock is worn away by slightly acidic water
Mountain
Formed by tectonic plates
Mountains can be alone or grouped in ranges
Riverine
Natural movement of a water system
Maps
Dot Distribution Map
Uses shapes to show to show population of people
