Product challenges
Magic loop
Magic loop is something I self taught myself using Youtube, and looking through different videos.
This was difficult since it also involved my fingers, and not only the hook, which was a little difficult.
Most of the videos were made by people who were right handed . This made it difficult for me since I'm left-handed
Variety of wool
My wool soon got over and so I went to a local market that was recommended by one of our family friends. The shopkeeper said that it is not wool season currently and hence he did not have a lot of colours. Hence, I only took a mustard colour.
He gave us his number to call when we need more and told us that the new stock would come by 10th July.
This served as a challenge since I couldn't resume my work .
For products that are i direct contact with the skin, I wanted to use softer wool which doesn't irritate the customer. Hence, I started buying baby wool which is softer and much more gentle on the skin
Hook size
While making coasters, my coaster appeared larger than the one the pattern depicted. Later, I cross checked the size of my hook with the hook required. I then realised that the size of the hook makes a big difference.
Hence, I went to Amazon and ordered a pack of hooks ranging from 2mm- 8mm.

Weaving off ends
At first, I would simply tie a knot and then cut off the extra thread. However, sometimes they would open up and become loose that reduced its quality and inhibited its function.
After interviewing my aunt, she helped me learn an alternative way to weave off the ends which involves tucking it in the nearby stitches
Adding a new colour
Initially I would tie the old colour with the new one and then start crocheting normal. However, after my aunt taught me how to weave off ends, I tried improvising that technique to add a new colour by myself. With this, the knot doesn't appear, the change in colour is more subtle.
