Agenda:
Debrief on Heroes journey and Empanda event
Emma: It was extremely well received based on the feedback I have heard around the office. I thought it was wonderful that everyone was so willing to be honest, which showed the trust we have amongst our colleagues. It was also a stark reminder that everyone is going through "stuff", and that we should be kind to one another always. I really enjoyed it!
Karla: Sounded like so much fun! The superhero's journey was interesting and people really opened up
Neal. Heard great things about the event. Sounds like it went down really well
Christy: I realised how the Heroes journey could integrate with our wider value proposition
Shauno:It was a great breaking down of walls and we connected in a new way, already told people at work about it and trying to get them to do it too, or take a team. Looking forward to the next one! Had some serious FOMO from not being in the other team's room!
Jess: Always respect each other as we never know what journey they're on. I always love spending time with the team and think we need to do it more. And I always love a good cry!
Janice: Everyone has a story!
Daniela: Heard nothing
You were amazing
Next steps on Empanda Engagement and Strategy
100% agree with you.
I think we should move forward with the people who have shown an interest. If people haven't yet read the document, they will likely add no value in the execution of the strategy. It's sad how some people can sacrifice their evenings and weekends to read the strategy, but other's can't make that sacrifice. They clearly aren't interested at all.
I feel bad that not all got involved. This was a very comprehensive document and a huge eye opener.
I agree
I think that we need to address when we're together at the next team building pilot.
Work commitments does make it difficult, but there were reminders and enough time given. Unfortunate that everyone didn't engage.
Lets start with the Why - why didn't everyone complete the task?
It may be a bit "eat the froggish" for people who are at client site when they open a 33 page document. Maybe smaller chunks of information more frequently.
Discussion on overwork and the Empanda approach to dealing with it
I am guilty. Agree it shows taking accountability. At same time difficult when resources cut. Leading a team of 5 people for now and need to review 15 processes etc a day and attend meetings as well. Am now delegating to assist me.
Agree, let's not force anything, it seems to have naturally progressed into a filter that allows people to be able to partake as much as they can/want to. (With regards to time/family/work/etc.) As discussed on Saturday, perhaps we need to look at a different way in terms of sharing and getting feedback, as it seemed to have been not as successful in terms of participation and feedback as Christy was hoping for. But I think it' should be seen as a pointer to the next steps and other ways to do it. We need to see what we can then do differently.

It is demonstrating taking Accountability for your deliverables
I would love HQ support navigating the uncomfortable overtime conversation.
I feel like it is a very difficult situation and I am not sure the best way to handle it but I do think a lot of the time it is a personal choice and I agree in terms of taking accountability
agree
FOUR DAY WEEK PLEASE!!!!
i think this discussion was long over due. Its important and bares a lot of wait with the employees. it does become discouraging when it seems as if your commitment goes "unseen". the level of professionalism is high so people are dedicated and do what is required without hesitating or thinking twice. so a four day week is great...joking... really good topic and need to some real thinking around it
Overtime becomes tricky when others are involved and deliverables are impacting them. It should be logged to raise as an issue though.
We always strive for delivery and that always push us to go extra mile and at the end work overtime - we sometimes have tight deadlines due to different reasons
