CHAPTER 2 ISLAMIC APPROACH
Metaphysics
Literally : is combination of two Greek words, ‘meta’ means beyond and “physika” mean physical
Technically : concerned with finding the truth about the nature of God, the nature of truth, the nature of the universe, the nature of man, the purpose of all creations including man, life after death, and other such metaphysical problems.
Islamic Metaphysics
the study of metaphysics within Islamic philosophy. The questions the nature of God, the nature of truth, the nature of the universe, the nature of man, the purpose of all creations including man, life after death, and other such metaphysical problems.
Taqlid in Aqidah
Taqlid is an Arabic term in Islamic legal terminology. It literally means “to follow someone”
Taqlid in aqidah defined as the acceptance of a theologian’s statements (Fatwa, without knowing his references or evidences) in aqidah matters.
Muqallid is the person who follow the say of scholars without knowing the truth or sources of the matters.
Abu Hassan Al Aha'ri
Matters in aqidah are acceptable except in taqlid because :
Taqlid is not valid and muqallid is considered kafir
Muqallid is considered muslim, but sinful
Muqallid is sinful if he is capable to use his own intellect
(Aahliyat al-Nadhr), if not he’s not sinful. Both types of Muqallid are considered Muslims.
The one making taqlid of Qur'an and mutawatir Sunnah has
proper Iman, but not someone who makes taqlid of a Scholar.
Taqlid is fine even if following a scholar
Taqlid is fine, and the opposite of taqlid is haram
Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal
It is mentioned that uncritical imitation of others (taqlid) in matters having to do with the knowledge of God (ma’rifat Allah) is not permissible.

Taqlid is unacceptable
Either in the shariah matter or theologyCensured the scholars for blindly conforming to the precedence of early jurists without any resort to the qur'an and sunnah.
He contended that although juridical precedence has its place, blindly giving it authority without contextualization, sensitivity to societal changes, and evaluative mindset in light of the qur'an and sunnah can lead to ignorance and stagnancy in islamic law.

“Taqlid is Haram, it is not permissible for any Muslim to do taqlid (of anyone) in the din of Allah.”[Tuhfat ul-Mujeeb Ala As’ilat ul-Haazirah wal Ghareeb.
The Approach of Al Quran
in understanding the Islamic Belief
“ And this Quran leads to the path of that is most right ” (Surah Isra’: 9)
The verse from the Quran above indicates that Muslims need to understand the Quran. The revelation has come to our Prophets within 23 years to complete the Islam. We as a Muslims must understand Quran in order to lives with a reflect of blessing and guidance of its teachings. Reading and reciting Quran is one of the Fardhu Al-ayn as a Muslims

Sense of freedom from compulsion or ignorance
Presenting a wrong faith and fixing it
Presenting a good stories and example
Theologian/Scholastic Approach
Depending on mind proposition first rather than on Islamic proposition
Changing the exact meaning to common meaning according to the mind
