She forges her fathers signature to take the loan and she does it to save her husbands life
Her husband survives and she needs to pay the loan back
She keeps the loan a secret and she secretly does jobs during the night
When her husband discovers what she done but he isolates her
Krogstad sees the errors in his ways . Helmer is relieved he wont be shamed
In the end she leaves to start a new life
She leaves her husband and her children
Based on the life of Laura Kieler- a friend of Ibsen
In reality Laura was divorced and sent to an asaylum
When Ibsen was writing the novel his friend was still in the asaylum
