tied aid
Tied aid is one country giving a loan to another country but the country giving the loan can choose which country the money for resources is spent in. This way they get money back and often make more money.
international agreements
This is an agreement between two or more countries. A reason to join such an agreement could be to help others and also for your own country to benefit. Other countries help you when you help them
humanitarianism
This is a reason that a country would want to help in the world. Humanitarianism is a believe to promote the well being of people throughout the world.
cost if they do not act
In some situations if a country does not act fast they could potentially be affected by the global issue. This could include war in other countries where it could affect economic costs of countries around.

self interest
some countries have interests that compete against helping other countries. this could be if a country benefits from another countries issues.
loss of sovereignty
when a country tries to help another nation they could lose control or have to give up control of a certain part of their nation or troops.
Costs
There is often a lot of financial costs to helping other countries.
There can also be a lose of people. In situations like peacekeeping. Peacekeepers can be put in life threatening situations where some often die.
isolationism
some nations have the idea to isolate themselves away from the rest of the world and to grow unilaterally.
