I think it is important to know what has or has not helped the obesity problem, and why, before starting a conversation so that one can be more educated when discussing possible ways to address obesity in the future
if one doesn’t understand what has been done in the past, there is no way to create change that will work
health problems, such as heart disease, that usually come with old age afflicting younger people causing unsettling amounts of young deaths
a public health issue that is covered in the media but it gets filtered to whatever the specific channel wants to share with the public

obesity is a national health crisis that affects almost everyone whether it be personally, in their family, or someone they know outside their family and obesity affects people at younger and younger ages.
the average person doesn’t always have access to the information they need in order to understand obesity

Economic Importance
it can help explain why people make the repetitive decisions that lead to obesity based on the idea of the rational consumer
pulls in many discipline domains which helps to entice a wider variety of people with a wider variety of interests to all come together in one topic
a way to look at obesity focusing on what decisions are made by individuals, or cultural groups, that lead to the choices that cause over consumption of calories.
Economics helps lead to my main question: does obesity have to do with personal choices or with some deeper issue that is ingrained in the socioeconomic structure of society and can help me identify major issues caused by either personal choices or societal circumstances
