Ingroup/outgroup
A:CR = help outgroup members if anticipated individual and/or collective benefits exceed anticipated costs
EAH: you are in a common group, makes you similar to that person (i.e. in the same social category makes you more likely to help) >> manipulating the salience of the social categorization
"We-ness"
A:CR = increased arousal (think about something happening in your city), increased costs of not helping (guilt, violating norms, future reciprocity), while decreasing the costs of helping (through feelings of greater familiarity)
EAH: Common group membership > similarity, closeness > empathic concern > amplifies altruistic motivations
