A conflict is a clash of interest. The basis of conflict may vary but, it is always a part of society. Basis of conflict- personal, racial, class, caste, political and international. Conflict in groups often follows a specific course. (Wikipedia)
Intergroup Conflict
Intergroup conflict refers to disagreements that exist between two or more groups and their respective members. However, this can also reflect any type of formal or informal disagreements between varying groups such as political parties or activist groups. Intergroup conflict is in many ways the source of the out group bias that discriminates against those that are not part of the "in-group."

Mediate With a Mission
Identify those involved and affected individuals and then meet with them one-on-one to gain a full understanding of the issues central to the conflict.
Present a resolution, and if you think it's appropriate, have everyone sign and date an agreement. Doing so conveys you mean business.
Return to the teams and explain the results of your mediation.
Intergroup Conflict
Intergroup conflict occurs when a misunderstanding arises among different teams within an organization. For example, the marketing department of an organization can come in conflict with the customer support department. This is because of the varied sets of goals and interests of these different groups. In addition to this, competition also contributes to intergroup conflict.
