Melkor: an evil Ainur
Ilúvatar: also known as Eru. He is the creator of the world (Arda). He created the Ainur.
Ainur: the holy ones
The waves of destruction and creation caused the world to take shape.
The Valar decided to prepare their world for the incoming inhabitants which are the elves and the men. Unfortunately, Melkor wanted the world for himself (because he is bad), and he destroyed the creation of the world for thousands of years.
Eru showed the gods a new form of a world called Arda. He offered the Ainur a chance to rule over this land. A lot of the Ainur took the chance to rule and decended down. The most important gods are called the Valar. The less are call Maiar.
Eru changed the theme three more times, but each time Melkor and his minions played the music that did not match. On the third time, Eru rose up and played a loud chord, causing the music to stop.
Melkor, the member of the Ainur who was "given the greatest gifts of power and knowledge"(4) decided to seek out greater thinks in the IMperishable Flame. Soon the awful things that he learned wove into his music and he created a new song. He brought some pf his siblings onto his side, but others stayed with Eru. This caused misharmonies in the music.
Eru created the world and the Ainur. All of the Ainur sang, but they sang alone. As more comprehension and knowledge of the world is gained, they grow more harmonious. One day they were all brought together by Eru and he gave them a theme of life to live by, which called for them to make beautiful music.
Melkor dipised the sea because he could not control it. He tried to pull Ossë into his plan, but failed. Instead, Ossë was sent before Ulmo and had to testify before him. He was pardoned, but at time his anger comes out and rages anger on those living by the sea.
Melkor is the greatest enemy of all. He who arises at Might. He does not go by this however, as after he disturbed the elves they would not utter the name. Instead they call him "Morgoth, the Dark Enemy of the World".
Orórin is the wisest of the Mair. He walks in the form of the elves or unseen among them becuase he loves them so much.
Melina is the server of Vána and Estë. She tends to the gardens. Nightinggales sing her name whenever she goes.
Uinen is the wife of Ossë. She is the Lady of the Seas. Her hair is spread under the ocean.
Ossë is a master of the Ocean, though he spends his tim on the coasts rather than the deeps.
Eönwë is the banner-bearer and herald of Manwë
Cheif among the Maiar is Ilmarë, a handmaid of Varda
The Maiar are the servants and helpers of the Valar.
Vána - ever-young. Flowers bloom when she looks at them.
Oromë - The most angry of the lords. He is also the mightiest. Huntsman, and lord of feasts.
Nessa - wife of Tulkas. She is loved by deer and they follow her everywhere. She is also a dancer.
Tulkas - The strongest of them. He is a wrestler. He was the last to arrive. Married to Nessa.
Nienna - a sister to the Fëanturi who lives alone. She is a weeper and a lady of mercy.
Estë - wife of Irmo. Lady of healing and of rest.

Aulë - the ruler of what the earth is made of and what is below it. He is also the lord of Smiths.
Ulmo is the sea kind and the lord of waters. He is lonely and constantly changing his location.
Varda: lady of the stars. Lives with Manwe and is the queen
Manwë - king of the wind and the ruler of the Valar. Although Melkor was the most powerful, Manwe was able to understand Eru, so he became the supreme ruler.
The Valar invited the elves to live in Aman. Others stopped along the way, creating new tribes including the Sindar. (ruled by the lovers Thingol and Melian)
Melkor captured some elves and turned them into his army of orcs. The Valar were worried about the endangerment of the elves, so they fought Melkor and defeated him.
Originally the elves put themselves into 3 groups. The Vanyar, Noldor, and the Teleri.
Varda made stars, awakening the elves.
Yavanna made two world trees. They brightened both the middle world and Valinor.
Melkor had continued efforts to destroy the world, so ultimately the Ainur went on and changed their plans and built the Valinor, home of the gods.
