Story
Eru created the world and the Ainur. All of the Ainur sang, but they sang alone. As more comprehension and knowledge of the world is gained, they grow more harmonious. One day they were all brought together by Eru and he gave them a theme of life to live by, which called for them to make beautiful music.
Melkor, the member of the Ainur who was "given the greatest gifts of power and knowledge"(4) decided to seek out greater thinks in the IMperishable Flame. Soon the awful things that he learned wove into his music and he created a new song. He brought some pf his siblings onto his side, but others stayed with Eru. This caused misharmonies in the music.
Eru changed the theme three more times, but each time Melkor and his minions played the music that did not match. On the third time, Eru rose up and played a loud chord, causing the music to stop.
Eru showed the gods a new form of a world called Arda. He offered the Ainur a chance to rule over this land. A lot of the Ainur took the chance to rule and decended down. The most important gods are called the Valar. The less are call Maiar.
The Valar decided to prepare their world for the incoming inhabitants which are the elves and the men. Unfortunately, Melkor wanted the world for himself (because he is bad), and he destroyed the creation of the world for thousands of years.
The waves of destruction and creation caused the world to take shape.

Story
Melkor had continued efforts to destroy the world, so ultimately the Ainur went on and changed their plans and built the Valinor, home of the gods.
Yavanna made two world trees. They brightened both the middle world and Valinor.
Varda made stars, awakening the elves.
Originally the elves put themselves into 3 groups. The Vanyar, Noldor, and the Teleri.
Melkor captured some elves and turned them into his army of orcs. The Valar were worried about the endangerment of the elves, so they fought Melkor and defeated him.
The Valar invited the elves to live in Aman. Others stopped along the way, creating new tribes including the Sindar. (ruled by the lovers Thingol and Melian)
