Mechanism for Counting
Aesthetics
-
The product will not be a mix of colors, but two colors, which will stand out, for example, like in a typical pool: blue and white. If I can, I could possibly add in a third color, to stand out even more.
Cost
The estimated cost for this product will be somewhere between £40-50., however the price may increase due to the material that will be used and how complex electronic circuit will be.
Customers
This product can be used for ages 12+, but it will mainly be used for those who would like to practice their swimming.
Environment
The project will be suitable for outdoor and indoor swimming, and it does not release any sort of chemicals that could possibly harm the environment. However the materials that will be used for the manufacturing of this, will come from destroying the environment to get these materials.
Safety
Safety is the number one priority, because by making this design, also come a lot of dangers.
The main precaution that will need to be done is to make it water proof, as electrical things and circuits will be involved in the making of this product. The second precaution that will need to be taken, is to make the build have no sharp edges and corners, so I will have to round them to be smooth and safer for the user.
Size
The size of the build will have to be enough for someone to stand on, however it cannot take up to much space.
The size will be different, because there will be a lot of measurements needed. The area were all the electronic components will be inside, will be 150mm150mm150mm.
Function
The main function of this project is to count and time the laps that have been done whilst swimming, so that they can look at those scores and use them to improve the user's performance.
Materials
The materials the mechanism will be made out of metal, plastic and rubber. The rubber in the product will be there, so that the user cannot slip whilst standing, and to have a good grip whilst holding the build.
