People believe we need voluntary organisations as they strengthen the bond between society while helping people
VO provide care and support in a responsive way and usually people do not have to wait for the service

VO Advantages
Quite responsive to needs - set up and provide support quicker, less bureaucratic
Flexible - less need to rigorously check if service users are entitled to access services provided as in the case of the statutory sector

Voluntary organisations provide care at a local level meaning easier access for many individuals allowing care to be provided in the home and community

Funded through lottery, street collections, bequests, fundraising events, government grants
Palliative Care Nurse
- Responsible for providing nursing care while liaising with other professionals regarding treatment
- Provide emotional support through counselling in relation to death or dying
- Important in explaining the effects of treatment and share info with service users regarding their condition
- Must write reports for Multi-Disciplinary teams to help ensure seamless provision of care
- Responsible for aspects of the care planning process
Care Assistant
- Provide direct care such as helping service users with personal hygiene requirements
- Help meet nutritional needs while supporting toileting needs
- Should maintain accurate and up-to-date records
