2 types of properties:
chemical (flammability, reactivity etc.)
physical (melting point, density etc.)
Changing state
At melting and boiling points, the temp. does not increase but the extra energy supplied by heat lets the particles break away from their original bondings and move over each other/ escape as a gas.
7Ha (The Air We Breathe)
All substances are made up of tiny particles called atoms or atoms bonded together in small groups (molecules)

other notes
Physical change: Mostly consists of only 1 substance
No NEW substance formed
easy to reverse
Chemical: NEW substance formed
2+ substance, change in properties
difficult to reverse
protons (+), neutrons and electrons (-) in an atom
burn is chemical change, heat is physical
