RNA Polymerase adds RNA nucleotides one at a time after the TATA box. The direction it goes in is 5' to 3'. These nucleotides are complementary to the nucleotides on the DNA strand.
Where RNA Polymerase goes from the Promoter in the direction of 5' to 3' making mRNA from the original strand.
