Religion
Christians: People who are monotheistic, and believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. There is currently 2.19 billion christians world wide.
Catholic - Those who do believe in the pope. Believe that sins can be forgiven through sacrament, and that the holy spirit comes from the father and the son.
Protestant- Started because of Martin Luther writing 95 reasons as to why the catholic church was terrible, they believe the church should weigh into the bible more.
Eastern Orthodox -Self governing churches that believe their are correct about the religion. Mostly practiced in Eurasian area

Ethnic Religions: Beliefs in ethnic religions vary greatly, they are religions that are specific to a ethnic region or ethnicity and are usually born into it. Three examples will be in the right.
Judaism: A religious group that uses the Torah as their main religious "text book", and is a monotheistic religion practiced by jewish people
Hinduism: A religion focused around India, it's as much as a lifestyle as a religion, and is also the oldest religion in the world.
Shintoism: Is a religion practiced in Japan, is polytheistic and practices rituals to keep bad spirits away.
AN EXAMPLE OF ONE OF THE ETHNIC RELIGIONS :
Buddhism: A religion founded by Siddartha Gautama, in Northeastern India, and is a widespread Asian religion or philosophy . It focuses in spiritual aspect of life in order to connect with and understand the nature of life, and although it originated from India it's teachings are focused around Eastern Asia.
Tantrayanist: Practice trying to feel the feeling of enlightenment such as Buddha. Believe in the ultimacy of the mind and is typically practiced in Tibet.
Theravada: This religion is typically practiced in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. They believe that arahant stays forever, and that Buddha teaches Dhara in his heavenly state and instant rebirth.

Mahayana: People who believe that Buddha has three different bodies, his essence, enjoyment, and transformation. This is usually practiced in Tibet, Japan, Korea and China as well.
Islam : A monotheistic religion of muslims, revealed through Muhammad as the Prophet of Allah. The religion has about 1.8 billion followers world wide.
Shiites: People in the religion that believe solely in Muhammad's son and law and his descendents. This is typically practiced in Iraq and Bahrain.
Sunni: People of the religion that believe in Muhammad four success and his descendants and they take up a rough estimate of 90% of all Muslims around the world.
