Effects of different exercise programs and minimal detectable changes in hemoglobin A1c in patients with type 2 diabetes. Diabetology & Metabolic Syndrome, 8(1). doi:10.1186/s13098-016-0123-y
Methods
moderate strength training group VS aerobic training group.
20 weeks (2 10 week phases)
Anthro/biochem measurements at baseline, 10 weeks, 20 weeks.
-
Results
11/20 pts completed training. (5 ST 6 AT)
No change in anthros
differences in A1C (bigger in ST group)
Conclusion: Both aerobic and strength exercises can help the metabolic control in patients with type 2 diabetes, even without significant changes in anthropometry over the 20 weeks of training.
