Planning for EPQ
Report
I will write my report on the design, researching and building of my artifact.
I will ensure that I take evidence of everything that I do to ensure that there aren't any holes in my report
-
I will also put in pictures of my artifact and my calculations to help in my conclusion. I will aim to digitise the calculations in order to make them easy to follow
Testing
I will use masses to get a value for ultimate tensile strength and for the materials that I used. I will then try to convert these to the actual bridge
I will use these calculations to determine whether the collapse was avoidable and try to solve why it happened.
-
I will talk to some engineers or research on the internet to try and get some equations I can use to test my bridge.
CAD drawing
I found a student version of auto-CAD to attempt to draw my bridge into. I will try to get my bridge drawn in by 20/09/19
I will have to learn how to use auto-CAD. I will seek to do a practice drawing before my project drawing to develop these skills.
-
Building
I will then use my materials to build a section of the bridge in a scale of my choosing. I will have to pick a sensible scale so that it is easy to build, but we don't spend too much on material.

Materials
-
I will have to factor in cost, strength. How easy it is to build from them and safety into it.
