- - - - Physical feature are natural features made by the Earth. Some of these features are:
        -mountains
        -rivers
        -ecosystems
        -trees
    - - Cultural features are man-made features that are un-natural to this earth. These feature have been made by humans and consist of:
        -roads
        -buildings
        -dams
        -bridges
  - - - Temperature
        
        Temperature measures how hot or cold an area is. It is measured in Celsius, Fahrenheit or kelvin. In Australia we use Celsius.
      - Rainfall
        
        The rainfall is the average amount of rainfall a place will get each month-year. It is measured in mm.
  - - - A key to show what symbols mean what on the map
    - - A title is to let people know where this map is of and what for.
    - - Putting a compass or some sort of direction to show which way is north on the map.
    - - The scale is to show how large of an area is. It uses ratios such as, one unit on the map represents one unit on the ground.
    - - Border is the frame of your map. The lines that show where it begins and ends.
- - - - A place is classified as grasslands when its area is dominated by grasses with few trees
      - Some grassland plants: purple needle grass, goldenrod, buffalo grass, coneflower
      - 2 main types: tropical and temperate
      - Some grassland animals: wildebeest, African bush elephant, Indian rhinoceros
      - Between 20-40% is grassland depending on the time and definition
    - - A place is classified as tundra when tree growth is hindered and the seasons are short
      - Some tundra plants: grasses, mosses and lichens
      - There are 3 types of tundra: Arctic, antarctic and alpine
      - Some tundra animals: Arctic fox, snowy owl, wolf, muskox, snow bunting
      - 20% of the land is tundra
    - - A place is classified as aquatic when its ecosystem is underwater or on the water
      - Some aquatic plants: water lettuce, nuphar japonica, ceratophyllum submersum, kelp, coral
      - 2 types: freshwater and saltwater
      - Some aquatic animals: turtles, fish, whales, sharks, oysters
      - 71% of the earths surface is water
    - - 33% of the land is desert
      - There are 4 types of deserts: Hot &dry, semiarid, coastal and cold
      - Some desert plants: prickly pear cactus, chain fruit cholla, desert ironwood, tumbleweed
      - A place is classified as a desert when it receives less than 25cm of rain a year
      - Some desert animals: camel, fennec fox, thorny devil, addax, jerboa, mongoose
